Disclaimer: I am a total newbie, noob, etc. So, I just bought my first bike. A Honda Nighthawk 550 (1983)! I went and looked at it and took it for a test drive the other day. It cranked and idled easy, ran just fine. Everything seemed to be working great on top being very sexy. The next day, I went back and bought it from the guy. I cranked it up at his house and it was ok, but after I trailered it home, I can't it get it to stay cranked. It cranked up fine as always, with a little choke. Then it died. I cranked it again and let it idle, put it in first and powerwalked it to the driveway. Then I put it back in neutral and let it warm up while I got my helmet and gloves on. Everything seemed normal, but then it stalled out again when I tried to put it in first. After that, it wouldn't crank at all. I tried it a few times, but it had been a really long day so I put it up for the night... I did put some premium gas in it on the way home (while it was on the trailer). Also, I read in the owner's manual that opening the throttle while the choke is on can cause "hard starting" and that the bike could get flooded if multiple start attempts are made. I am sitting here sleepless at 4:18 am waiting for the sun to come up so I can try it again. This is killing me right now. What the H!? I was in love with this thing riding it one day and the next it won't run for me. Any ideas?
