Last time I had the intake-air boots off the 1983 CB650SC bike I did not remember this much trouble trying to line up and clamp on the carb. I pretty much rage quite working in it. I notice there is some heavy wire as part of the boot. I can't help but think that may have something to do with helping reassemble, but not sure what it is for. The manual had a step that simply read "movie the air cleaner chamber to the rear." I am not aware of it being moveable. Once again a tid bit I am probably missing. If someone out there has a sane procedure that works for them getting those %$^%& boots back on the carb I would be most grateful.
