After cleaning and re-assembling the carbs the slides come down fine. I would have thought that if they were sticking, they would stick regardless of whether I was moving or not. Once I balanced the carbs, there was no sign of the slow return to idle until I ride the bike. I tried reving and holding it at 4000 rpm to see if I got any indication of it sticking. None. returns beautifully. The only thing I can think of that changes in motion is the air flow.
