You've answered your own question..."the bike was idle for about 30 years"

Over time, petroleum products (grease, oil and gasoline) degrade and fail
to do the jobs for which they were designed. And anything made of rubber
(tires, oil seals) lose their flexibility with the same result. Bare metal
parts corrode from condensation. And so on. So the worst thing one can do
to a bike is let it sit.

Dunno the answer to your fork question, but I would suggest looking up
the part numbers for both sets of forks on a parts site that uses official
Honda part numbers, such as servicehonda.com If the part numbers match,
they'll fit.

Good luck with it.
