What readings did you get for the rectifier when you tested it? When you say "Half the diodes went out," do you mean you got current in both directions? Or did you get continuity to ground? I'm just trying to learn this stuff myself. I have 2 PCs, so I guess today I'll just flip the 2 rectifiers and see what kind of voltage I get at 3K.
