When my headlights have quit working (happened on two different bikes), I traced the line from the battery to the fuse box, up to the right handlebar pod, over to the bright/dim switch, and then up to the headlight. I used a paper clip to jump the connections when they were disconnected after verification, if that makes sense.
Both times I found the problem to be in the right handlebar pod, once because a solder had come undone and once because a pin had gotten bent when I put in the connector and was no longer entering its socket. However, when I had no headlight, I had no high beam light. As a matter of fact, before I replaced the whole right pod, I used to leave the headlight on high beam, as I could tell I had no headlight at all when the blue indicator light went out. Your situation is clearly different, but I would begin to troubleshoot in this way. I trust you've got a multimeter and a wiring diagram. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
