Incorrect. The hi/lo beam switch is on the left-hand control pod on pretty 
much every motorcycle I'm familiar with. However, the power for the 
headlight goes through the start switch on the right-hand control pod. This 
is how the headlight automatically goes out when you hit the start button. 
If that connection is broken, the headlight goes out even when the start 
button is not pushed. This is what has happened to me twice for the 
different reasons I mentioned.
