I live in Florida and I usually leave with half choke on. It takes a while for these bikes to warm up.

It definitely needs a good 5-10 minute warm up and don't romp on it while it's warming up. Choke is gonna be needed most of the time unless it's 80+ degrees. Idle should be higher in the cold but idle should be around 1k to 1500.
