Yo kiwi, you check ground at headlight plug for continuity to ground? And do you have any voltage at plug for headlight? Voltage coming from high/low switch? And as someone already suggested, starter button can kill headlight . Glad to hear tail light issue was a fuse, wouldn't want to mess with that scary black box on back inner fender either.
