Thought I'd give one more update. About a month ago I took her out for a ride and she rode like crap. Having just rebuilt the carbs I figured it was a fuel issue, but it was strange... as if the hp would kick full on, then instantly drop to sputter, then on, then off, etc... this happened up and down the RPM range. As I thought about it I figured it might be a spark issue so I went ahead and tried to replace the plugs.
I broke the last one in the head. After trying EZ outs of different sizes (quality square edge ones... that I ended up breaking in the stuck threads) I knew it was time to take the head off. I ended up using a time-sert to fix it and wow, those are easy to use! Fast forward a month and she was finished last Friday with a successful 5 minute ride. Saturday I went and got gas (to make sure she would restart somewhere other than my house) and on Sunday I went for an hour ride. The last few pics in the album are from Sunday. Note: I couldn't see anything out of those mirrors so the stock ones went back on after the ride. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipPeX4ga7jU0evbyfLh5kZHJwOR-FCKNCQb0bpZoOjqev-oarb01mV4zeWIuEX1C0w?key=NjhSRmZTMmVSNVVWNWt1bHRqWVhOTEJRZ3JMRVlR -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
