My worry - is that someday Nikon will drop the DX series and then I will have a bunch of useless lenses. Any thoughts?

I stopped using my film Nikon F80s five years ago, but the lenses are all still here, sitting in the drawer waiting for the day I can afford the F700 or its successor. However, in the meantime, I ended up using Pentax DSLRs, first the DS2 and now the K100D, with the cheap old Pentax prime lenses which all work with the DSLR body. I went for the DS2 because at that time its viewfinder beat the Nikon equivalent, the D70 viewfinder, hands down, and the body was small and very portable. Pentax K-mount primes are cheap and plentiful. I did not sell my Nikon primes and one day they will have a body to go with, but as an incedental result of the above choice I simply managed to avoid, or simply bypass, the Nikon DX format altogether.
