I am new to this. Good day to all As for the dx format being dropped, I really don´t think this will happen anytime soon. Remember there are several bodies on the dx line from Nikon, and also remember this is a business for Nikon, so we would probably have to take a look at the dx format sales and how it is doing nowadays, from what I have heard there is no shortage of sales on the dx front.
Well that´s my thoughts on that, hopefully it will stay like that, I do have a d70s and a d700 so I wouldn´t really "mind" not being able to get more dx lenses, I usually shoot with the d700 all the time. However, in the meantime, I ended up using Pentax DSLRs, first the DS2 and now the K100D, with the cheap old Pentax prime lenses which all work with the DSLR body. I went for the DS2 because at that time its viewfinder beat the Nikon equivalent, the D70 viewfinder, hands down, and the body was small and very portable. Pentax K-mount primes are cheap and plentiful. I did not sell my Nikon primes and one day they will have a body to go with, but as an incedental result of the above choice I simply managed to avoid, or simply bypass, the Nikon DX format altogether.
