Now, can someone please answer Rutie's question?
OK, Dave, just be patient...

When I change the font of a given ruler (which pertains to English text interspersed with Hebrew), the Hebrew comes out garbage, and when I use the Hebrew font, the English font changes to a fixed English font, namely while I want, say, palatino, it comes out Time.
Methinks you have character formatting and paragraph formatting (i.e., a ruler) combined in one style. If so, then changing the font (when you actually have two fonts/scripts in the same ruler) might be confusing NW. Try keeping the ruler and the character formatting separate and see what happens.

Just a guess, as I'm not sure what's going on at your end. And I know nothing about Hebrew.
