Greetings,

I'd like to acquire a webcam that's well supported by Linux. I'm
currently using Mandriva 2008.1 but that can be changed. The primary
objective is to use the webcam to send streaming audio/video of band
performances, probably to a closed audience of only a few people.

Color and audio are obviously necessary, so B/W-only cams are out. The
resolution and FPS needs are modest, at this point, anything we stream
is better than the "nothing" currently being streamed. Both new and
used are acceptable.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

BTW... my band, JonesWorld, is playing this Saturday, consider yourself
invited.

Ciao,

JMJ, a.k.a. "Fedora Jones"
(yes, I occasionally wear a red hat.)

==================================

Here are the show details:

JonesWorld presents "A Night in Purple"... our tribute to the one and
only Prince.

= This Saturday night, Nov. 15th
= Limelight, 210 Woodland St. (Across from the football stadium)
= Doors open at 8pm
= Must be 18 years or older to enter.
= Admission is $10 (unless you ask your favorite JonesWorld member,
a.k.a. ME, for a free ticket.)

THE FOLLOWING DRESS/BEHAVIOR CODE FOR THIS SHOW WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED:
1) Wear something funky, bonus points for wearing purple.
2) Add/remove clothing as instructed by the band.
3) All you Sexy MF's will shake that ass when instructed by the band.
4) I'm just kidding about that "strictly enforced" bit. LOL But, we love
it when you dress to impress... US.
:-D
