It being a band and a live show. getting a mic that will not distort with
the loudness of the venue would be a problem. i know this isnt really about
the webcam but how much use is the video if the audio isnt of decent enough
quality to make out the music? I would suggest you find a way to get a
line-in from the soundboard.

as far as the cam. most webcams are made and tuned for short distance
video.. you go very far away from it and detail is lost/out of focus.. I
would suggest trying out the DV cam that Critch has suggested.
