True, good point. There are many options for the audio portion of the
project, and I can figure all of that out, so I'm not too worried about
getting that working. I guess my mention of it was a bit of a red
herring since the video portion is what I have the least knowledge
about. ;-)

That seems to be a popular suggestion, so I'll check into it. However,
I don't see a Firewire port on the box I plan to use, so that might be
an issue. I do have a PCI->PCMCIA card and a PCMCIA card with Firewire
and USB, so in theory, I could use that to add a Firewire port. That's
a bit of a kludge, but I already have the hardware so it's free. :-)

Yeah, cheaper is better. :-) I'm not overly concerned with the quality
of the video at this point because the odds are that I'll be the only
one seeing it. I'd ultimately like to watch/hear my band play when I'm
out of town and can't be at shows here. I can always upgrade the video
hardware later.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into those more next week.

Rob, thanks for the reminder to make notes as I go along so I can make a
presentation later. :-)

Ciao,

JMJ
