True, good point. There are many options for the audio portion of the project, and I can figure all of that out, so I'm not too worried about getting that working. I guess my mention of it was a bit of a red herring since the video portion is what I have the least knowledge about. ;-) > For video you have options: > DV cam is very nice option That seems to be a popular suggestion, so I'll check into it. However, I don't see a Firewire port on the box I plan to use, so that might be an issue. I do have a PCI->PCMCIA card and a PCMCIA card with Firewire and USB, so in theory, I could use that to add a Firewire port. That's a bit of a kludge, but I already have the hardware so it's free. :-) > a cheaper option, since you are planing on streaming > get a capture card/dongle (any wintv product) and a camera from > anywhere, even Harborfrieght has a good color cam (it has a mic, but I > am not saying use it) Yeah, cheaper is better. :-) I'm not overly concerned with the quality of the video at this point because the odds are that I'll be the only one seeing it. I'd ultimately like to watch/hear my band play when I'm out of town and can't be at shows here. I can always upgrade the video hardware later. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into those more next week. Rob, thanks for the reminder to make notes as I go along so I can make a presentation later. :-) Ciao, JMJ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
