The target audience of these studio combinations is not a group given to software installation issues. What I find intriguing is how successful the Elastix (www.elastix.org) have been in packaging an Asterisk/FreePBX/CentOS "roll up" (albeit their 1.5.2 stable has a CentOS issue). We are going to see more of these "roll ups" over time targeted to specific applications. I can think of one in particular - LedgerSMB needs one in the worst way. For those of us that don't mind working a list of packages to link up (the meta package), how do we get "the list?" Howard PS - I looked at the Ubuntu Studio site and they are also smitten with the DVD install. Sigh. Why can't we boot from a small media and get everything else on the net? PPS - Today's Wall Street Journal has an interesting piece about the issues NetFlix faces as the DVD faces extinction. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
