True, which would recommend sticking with -man, since solaris, at
least, belches on -mdoc. However, I think we'll see vendors beginning
to support this a bit better soon, since BIND and Sendmail, among
others, use it for their manual pages.

Still, no need to trade one problem for another. For now, we're
probablly better off with the plain ol' -man macros. 

Shantonu, since you've started with ali, why don't I get started on
whom, and we can meet somewhere in the middle? I'm away at the moment,
but should be able to get a bunch done on Tuesday, which is a holiday
here.
