Jason,

I was okay with paying for this monthly service with Chase since they  
kept it free longer than most other banks and I really love the one- 
click convenience. As Jaysen said, this does costs banks money to run  
but so do the branches and ATMs and those are not tagged with a fee so  
this is a bit hard to swallow.

On the upside, if you get to know your specific bank branch manager  
and employees, they can waive fees like this depending on how much  
business you give them.
