I should add that I can now both reproduce and cure this. If "Show Future Transactions" is enabled - and I click on a future months bucket it does indeed update to include scheduled transactions. To cure this: Go to "View" and "Hide Future Transactions" - nothing seems to change HOWEVER then save and reopen your Moneywell file - the bucket then updates correctly.
