Alan, I remember the conversation, and just reread the post--I'm still doing things the same way. Thanks again for the post.
I've also added an account, and called it "---------------------------" This account, I put in between my cash flow accounts and my investment and loan accounts. This helps to serve as a visual reminder as to whether or not I assign a transfer to a bucket. If I cross the line with a transfer, I assign it to a bucket. If I do not cross the line, I don't assign the transfer to a bucket. It's helped simplify things when I've shown others how to manage multiple cash flow accounts (savings, checking, credit cards, and cash) and other accounts (loans, mortgages, retirement savings, etc).
