Sean Busbey commented on ACCUMULO-1804:
---------------------------------------
I love teh idea of this contribution, but I'm -1 (non-binding) on the pull
request, because it places it in the main project repo.
I'd like to see this in a contrib repository. That will take a ticket to INFRA
to make a repo, and one of the Accumulo committers will have to do it. The
current process for getting a new contrib in Accumulo is just an email to dev@
to get consensus on taking things on. Part of that discussion is the relative
merit of having this as a contrib versus having it live in github.
Aaron, I see you sent a brief message a few days ago to user@ about this. Could
you (or Phil?) copy dev@ into that thread with a brief description of the
motivation for adding it as a contrib?
Aaron, could you please post your request to [Apache's review
board|https://reviews.apache.org/] so that we can provide feedback via an
Apache system?

> Need to be able to support users who utilize RStudio to conduct analysis of
> data residing in the Accumulo data space instead of moving data from one
> repository to a stand alone system to have the analytic run in memory.
> RStudio should be able to make calls directly to the data space and provide
> the output within the RStudio interface.
