The Fenwick tutor (1896) for nsp, page 10, 1st paragraph  "an airtight bag made

It is a fate used as an ultimate obedience threat in this household..."behave, 
or 
you'll be a pipebag", and I remember discussing once with Colin R the 
suitability 
of our respective dogs' coats (labrador and collie at the time), once the four-
legged owners had finished with them, as it were.

The problem these days would, I suspect, be the regulations involved in the 
process 
of converting deceased four legged friend into pipebag. Otherwise I'm sure 
someone 
would try it.
