When playing with NSP in F do you tune your fiddle down or play in F

It doesn't happen often, and I don't retune the fiddle, just struggle
in F. When Chris used to occasionally play GHB in Border Directors
before we both had Border pipes I struggled in Bb. If I were doing a
lot of either of these I would retune, down and up respectively, but
I'm not looking to do so; having started piping at a relatively late
age I find pipes so demanding that my fiddle playing is now mainly
about playing with a good dance rhythm rather than exploration.
I've 'always' - since taking up guitar at age 13 - played with other
instrumentalists. The fiddle took me into ceilidh bands and since
taking up pipes my horizons have broadened further rather than narrowed
- string quartets, a saxophone quintet, middle eastern percussion. So
the idea that it would be unusual to play duets is, well, unusual!
