negativity has a role to play but it needs to be tempered with optimism
when warranted. I think that constant negativity is as pointless as
constant blind optimism. it's a ying & yang thing.

Subject: [NSWolves] Re: QLD Wolves + a new forum?

A flickr group would be good. I have some stuff to upload too. I think
websites are sooooo web 1.0. Web 2.0 is where it's at, as Craig Belamy
might say. I was suprised to find that there are sixty odd members of
NSWolves on Facebook.

Do a search for JIWAL on Mol Mix. It will help to explain Darrell's
comments. He's not well liked on there. I think it's more active now
than at any time since I've been using it. Forums always wane a bit as
all of the good discussion topics get used up, and so the focus is more
on current events.

At least people on MolMix either go to the games or hear snippets about
what's going on behind the scenes. The main reason I go on is to get a
consolidated view of what's happening. It will be easier with all games
televised next season but it has been invaluable in the past. There are
still the full-time negative posters on there but it's easy enough to
filter them out after a while.

I can't work out with Darrell and his ilk as whether he believes all the
negative stuff or has just got into a habit of finding the worst in
everything or just enjoys being a troll. I sat next to him at the match
and some of his comments were ridiculous (e.g. "I remember the last time
we scored from a corner - it was 1978"). I think he forgot he wasn't
under the protective duvet offered by cyberspace. A couple of people
told me over the weekend that they'd like to punch his lights out.

Darrell didn't say that - he just told me about how he and few
others were banned - I filled in the waning populatity bit from what
some others said. I don't normally read forums (prefer offline mailing
lists) - so my apologies for jumping the gun there.

Anyway - the ozwolves forums was more just for wolves fans in
Aus to coordinate a bit - but it sounds like molmix is fine. There's
still a facebook group for australian wolves fans if people want to go
on that... and also nswolves, qldwolves etc etc. Looks like a lot of the
club sites are not so active these days with the advent of social
networking. I noticed that all the old favourites like Berlin Wolves etc
are all pretty much unmaintained sites now.

On a different topic I'm going to upload all my photos tonight -
does anyone know which tags people are using on flickr - or do we have a
group setup?

Darrell would say that though wouldn't he?

MolMix is the centrepiece of the online Wolves
community. We have nothing new to contribute from here. I think it
will die if you set one up from here.

I created this facebook group for the QLD Wolves
to coordinate - we seem a bit spread out over a few lists, forums and
IRC. Feel free to join and tell anyone else you know:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=102527992948

We can put our potential events on there (such
as game viewing and the curry night) and forward them around our
networks.

I was also talking to Darrell on Sunday about
molmix and how a lot of people seem to be banned from this and it's
popularity is waning a bit. Anyone interested in a new forum only site
for Australian fans? I still have the ozwolves.com
<http://ozwolves.com/> domain that I could whack up a standard phpbb
forums for everyone on if there was enough interest. If there's going to
be future tours, then we probably need to coordinate better.

                        Good idea/Crap idea? - you tell me. I don't
mind... I'm not much of a forum poster - but I know a lot of others do.

Anyway - back to work... I am finding it pretty
tough today after about 1-2 hours sleep on the red-eye then straight to
work...<eek>

ps. Awesome Awesome weekend... great to catch up
with and meet so many Wolves fans
