Because he built us a good team with longevity, not a team of old has
beens. That team was also a good investment as it will be worth more
than what was paid for it. That's shrewd business and in stark contrast
to teh previous managers we had.

A good team? We are almost bottom and have only won two games all
season. A good championship team but definately not a good premier
league team.

Because getting into too much debt could be a disaster for the club.
We're not going to spend big and he's good at buying players for little
money and making them play well.

He gets about one in three right, remember there have been plenty of
flops...have you seen the tall Austrian play?

Because his approach has been shown to work. Remind me how many years
and how many managers and how much money we burned trying to get
promoted? Then compare it to what he spent in actually winning the
Championship.

He's got a good track record at getting teams promoted...not keeping
them up. Agree about our record at changing managers, its terrible.

Because changing manager is unlikely to change our fortunes. If you
have evidence that changing manager is a proven way of improving results
for a club in the medium term then show me. I presented my facts
recently to say the opposite.

There are managers that have saved clubs (Arry is the prime example)

Because, realistically, we have to be prepared to bounce up and down to
become established

This is very risky indeed, a risk I wouldn't like us to take. No
guarantee we'd bounce back at all. Look at all the ex PL sides in
turmoil. I'd rather us take a gamble at staying up.

What a terrible predicament we are in, we've got a manager who
may just fluke it and keep us up, but if we do go down we know he's a
good championship manager.

So what you are saying is we are unlikely to sack him this
season because he'll be ok in the lower league?

Why does he deserve a full season this year???? Surely if it
looks likely that he will take us down, we should act whilst there is
still time for us to be saved?....Another month and we'll have a better
idea.

I doubt MM will get sacked until he's in the same position as DJ
next season. I can't see him getting the boot this season no matter
what the result. He deserves a full go this season and he's the man for
the job next season if we are down.

in this age of "player power", maybe we should do away
with the manager role, after all the manager had no influence over the
performance of the team if I remember correctly ;-) and let the players
decide how they want to play?

And replace him with Paul Ince I presume?

so if Pompey can sack their manager so soon, why
can't we do the same? Come on Morgan, you know it makes sense...
