One positive from that article is that we have conceded less shots in the PL than Man United have (although we haven't played Arsenal, Chelsea or City yet).

Unfortunately, we don't have 1 player in our 25 man squad who can do anything other than play the position they were brought up to play (usually via the lower tiers of English football). Is it any wonder that players like Silva & Milner can wonder around as they wish when their team mates can easily slot in to any position and cover their wondering? Can you imagine Jarvis trying to slot into right-back if Stearman goes wondering around the pitch? Not a chance as he has no positional awareness or ability to tackle. This is the case for almost every position in our team. Mick is old school and buys/trains players to perform single functions, which is why so many of them look like square pegs in round holes when he tries to use someone to fill a position through injury. The style of players and the coaching methods used by the newer bread of coaches (Barca, City, Real Madrid etc) are polar opposites to the thinking of Barnsley lad McCarthy. Mick McCarthy really is Mick The Magician compared to that prat Sven. It seems Mick is going to be given the opportunity to rectify the current slump and keep us in the Premier League so lets see whether he is smart enough to try different tactics and team selections or whether he's going to be pig-headed and persist with the same drivel. If we are going to change back to a 4-5-1 I think he needs to move Doyle into the hole behind a striker. Doyle is good at holding up the ball and creating space for other players but he is not a natural goalscorer (last weeks tap-in was not of his own making). Two hammerings from Man City in a week should be a good test for the fans and also Mick's temperament. Basically their attitude was 'you don't know what you're doing' - foul-mouthed abuse of these substitutions which in fact coincided with the turning of this game in Wolves' favour. "Of course he knew what he was doing! Why would they be standing on the terraces and doing some other job and Mick be a Premier League manager - a manager of one of the top 20 clubs in one of the top football countries in the world if he didn't know more about what he was doing than they do? "People don't know their place anymore. This is the problem. People who don't know anything are shouting 'you don't know what you're doing' to a chap who quite demonstrably does know football inside out." He'll be after another job if his team carry on performing like they did this morning. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Paul Crowe Sent: Monday, 24 October 2011 8:32 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [NSWolves] MM on his way out, lost the plot big time! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/wolverhampton-wanderers/ 8844 020/Wolverhampton-Wanderers-manager-Mick-McCarthy-tells-fans-he-is-up-fo r-a- fight-following-protests.html <http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/wolverhampton-wanderers /8844%0A020/Wolverhampton-Wanderers-manager-Mick-McCarthy-tells-fans-he- is-up-for-a-%0Afight-following-protests.html> Offering to fight the fans?
