A defeat tonight, followed by another at Maine Road and Wigan at home will
see the end of MM!

Fingers crossed! If Morgan thought some fans were hostile on Saturday, he
hasn't seen anything yet. I remember being at the Mol for McGee's last game,
the whole ground shook with vicious "McGee Out" chants!

I've had enough of him and his excuses for the football we haven't been
playing for a while now.

You've changed your argument there, but my point was is that comparing
Wolves with those sides is specious reasoning.

In addressing your new argument, we have at the moment a team at the top of
the bottom quartile of the PL, which you admitted is where we should be with
the squad we have. That we haven't spent more to get a bigger squad is not
Mick's fault.

Quality of players is certainly a big part of it but nobody has ever
suggested that we should be able to compete with the likes of Man City, Man
Utd, Arsenal etc, but surely Mick must take some responsibility for the
squad that he has built and the tactics that he employs.

He's spent 5 years rebuilding the team from scratch, there have been
wholesale changes behind the scenes with management and coaching staff,
introduction of more technology to monitor training and match performance.
We have a new owner that is investing in infrastructure and to some extent
players, yet what have we been able to show for it so far this season? We
have just been outplayed and dominated by a team in their first ever season
in top flight football, who 3 seasons ago were playing league 1 football.
We were also very poor against QPR at home and West Brom.

The team that Mick built isn't performing to the standard that many think
they should be after 3 years in the Premier League; surely Mick is largely
responsible for that? Him, Jez & Morgan said they were aiming for mid-table
this season. Do you think we are performing well enough to get mid-table?

Is this an issue of the quality of the players more than the manager's
ability?

For example, Silva and Milner each cost about as much as our entire team.
Silva's wages are 140k a week which is about 5 of our players.

No. Of course not. It's all Mick's fault

The glaringly obvious difference between the teams being compared is that
almost their entire 25 man squads are "complete" players than have the
ability to defend, attack, pass, cross, head a ball and cover other players
when they go wandering.

Unfortunately, we don't have 1 player in our 25 man squad who can do
anything other than play the position they were brought up to play (usually
via the lower tiers of English football).

Is it any wonder that players like Silva & Milner can wonder around as they
wish when their team mates can easily slot in to any position and cover
their wondering? Can you imagine Jarvis trying to slot into right-back if
Stearman goes wondering around the pitch? Not a chance as he has no
positional awareness or ability to tackle. This is the case for almost
every position in our team. Mick is old school and buys/trains players to
perform single functions, which is why so many of them look like square pegs
in round holes when he tries to use someone to fill a position through
injury. The style of players and the coaching methods used by the newer
bread of coaches (Barca, City, Real Madrid etc) are polar opposites to the
thinking of Barnsley lad McCarthy.

No way!!! Mick McCarthy really is Mick The Magician compared to that prat

It seems Mick is going to be given the opportunity to rectify the current
slump and keep us in the Premier League so lets see whether he is smart
enough to try different tactics and team selections or whether he's going to
be pig-headed and persist with the same drivel. If we are going to change
back to a 4-5-1 I think he needs to move Doyle into the hole behind a
striker. Doyle is good at holding up the ball and creating space for other
players but he is not a natural goalscorer (last weeks tap-in was not of his
own making).

Two hammerings from Man City in a week should be a good test for the fans
and also Mick's temperament.

I think the point is that an experienced footbal manager knows more about
football than anyone in the crows, although most people don't agree with
that.

Here you are, you spotty kids.

"But Mick then makes a couple of substitutions and the cameras focused on a
bunch of spotty kids on the terraces. Basically their attitude was 'you
don't know what you're doing' - foul-mouthed abuse of these substitutions
which in fact coincided with the turning of this game in Wolves' favour.

"Of course he knew what he was doing! Why would they be standing on the
terraces and doing some other job and Mick be a Premier League manager - a
manager of one of the top 20 clubs in one of the top football countries in
the world if he didn't know more about what he was doing than they do?

"People don't know their place anymore. This is the problem. People who
don't know anything are shouting 'you don't know what you're doing' to a
chap who quite demonstrably does know football inside out."

Of course he never uttered a word.

As for a new manager I'd go for that Ferguson bloke.
He'll be after another job if his team carry on performing like they did
this morning.

Offering to fight the fans? MM has totally lost in my opinion.

Who do you fancy as our next Manager Rog? Another one to add to the list
could be that Paul Lambert from Norwich, they have tried to play football
all season so far.

I watched it this morning. I thought we played very well. No complaints.
Some really good performances and a lot of bad luck again.

only the bringing on of Milijas (and some other bloke) that made any
difference and we stuck with the 442 formation with the subs.
