You know what, I think you may be right. However I do have the SQL Agent setup on the BE server. So just backup the backup files huh? I will give that a try. If just backing up the files, BackupExec will fail on directories containing the databases and log files (.mdf & .ldf) unless the SQL Server service is stopped. My preference is to let SQL Admins create their own backups within SQL Server and then let BackupExec back up these SQL Backups. I then exclude the directories containing the mdf and ldf files.
