Power cycle the OfficeJet. IP connectivity should come back then. If not take a look at your network/DHCP. You also might get some informations if you connect to http://yourOfficeJetsIP after regaining connectivity.

Then unplug the officejet from the network. If you still see response there is another device answering. Quite simple.

I thought of the test/example page at the officejet itself to ensure that the device is working properly. What is the model specification of the office jet ? (k80, t65, ...)
