Martin, what types of ports are you using? I guess I mention that from
recent experience. Our ports are LPR ports and TCP/IP ports, so their
naming and such is based on IP address. Not a good thing with dynamic IPs
for us, at least.

Ok, anyone else finding this whole thread amusing this morning?

And dynamic IP addresses for printers aren't a great idea. Think about
reserving some IP addresses in you DHCP scope and setting them to static.
Don't even ask about how to do that. If you're not sure, read up on it or
get someone with more experience to perform this action.

Power cycle the OfficeJet. IP connectivity should come back then. If not
take a look at your network/DHCP. You also might get some informations if
you connect to http://yourOfficeJetsIP after regaining connectivity. Take a
serious look at

Ping IP-of-the-office-jet -t
Then unplug the officejet from the network. If you still see response there
is another device answering. Quite simple.
I thought of the test/example page at the officejet itself to ensure that
the device is working properly. What is the model specification of the
office jet ? (k80, t65, ...)
