Hello,
We have a separated building in which drives are mapped to our main file
server over a Radio link.
The users are beginning to complain that network drives are appearing
with a red X by them, and each time they attempt to access these shares
it takes several attempts before this connection is reestablished.
Reverse mappings (ie mappings to the server at the other end,) tend to
expire and get a red X from the building I am in, also.
Why do connections of this nature disconnect so much? Why does it take
so long to reestablish a connection over the 11Mb Radio link?
FYI: The Radio link hovers around 7Mb/s capacity, and it is not
overutilized by this group of people.
It is becoming a nuicance. Is there anything I can do?
