A few questions: Has this network been in place for a while or is this a new network link that has just been put in placed?
If this network has been around for a while, then has any other network connection between the two buildings gone away? The way users access files via drive mapping, has this the case for a while or is this new? In general, what has changed recently? The users are beginning to complain that network drives are appearing with a red X by them, and each time they attempt to access these shares it takes several attempts before this connection is reestablished. Reverse mappings (ie mappings to the server at the other end,) tend to expire and get a red X from the building I am in, also. Why do connections of this nature disconnect so much? Why does it take so long to reestablish a connection over the 11Mb Radio link? FYI: The Radio link hovers around 7Mb/s capacity, and it is not overutilized by this group of people. It is becoming a nuicance. Is there anything I can do? -- Adam Smith IT Officer SAGE Automation Ltd [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.sageautomation.com Phone: (08) 8276 0703 Fax: (08) 8276 0799 Mobile: 0414 895 273 "Computers are like air-conditioners; they don't work when you open Windows." ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
