verify as in verify data when backed up? I disabled that. Both enabled
and disabled made no difference.

Well, we work from 600am to 500pm, so my backup window is between 500pm and
600am. I planned on doing full backups every night, but going to change
that. Full backups on Friday and incremental the other nights.

That is the plan.

On the local machine. Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 is running on the server
which is connected via SCSI cable to the Benchmark.

Local.

What I was going to do was backup all the servers to the local hard
drive. The hard drive is 73GB and we have about 40 GB of data that we want
to back up. This includes all SQL databases, html, jpg, and gifs. Then,
once the files were copied onto the hard drive, running Veritas to back up
that hard drive. I used FileSync to copy the files across the
network. That runs fine. It is using Veritas to do the backup to Tape or
another local hard drive that is slow.
