So do I, but I dislike "extended" downtime worse ... which is why I like to 
reboot NT4 servers occasionally.  So much "crap" goes through the servers 
that their performance tends to degrade as they remain running.  Having the 
BIOS(es) run a check on everything once in a while makes me feel warm & 
fuzzy.  I like warm & fuzzy. 

Now, I agree, once a day is too much, but once a month isn't.  I didn't have 
SQL on NT4, however.  SQL on our W2K Server was such a joy - never reboot! 
:)  And our Oracle software consultant required us to shut down and restart 
the server EVERY DAY. ?? 

Like the other prevalent thread today wrt CD-burning, it sounds a bit more 
like SysAdmin opinion than an industry standard/fact.  Agree?
