No, I haven't personally, but I don't get the thing about loss of
ability to manage users/printers. In AD you can get about as granular
as you would ever need to. Can't speak to the speed issue directly
either, but if you have decent hardware, W2K seems to provide perfectly
acceptable file access times.

Subject: Novell

Hi there. For the time since the company started, I've been asked to
provide reasons to switch to an Active Directory only network, and get
rid of Novell Netware. This is in light of our netware server problems
recentlya s a result of a bad drive. The Netware folks say that Novell
needs SCSI hardware, and have estimated six grand to get everything back
up.

There are strong objections from the Novell fans to switching to AD,
citing such issues as Win2k's speed degradatio for file access compared
to Novell, and loss of abilities to manage users and printers.

My question is, has anyone out there used Novell and converted to Win2K,
and if so, what experiences did you have? Good or bad, because if there
*are* issues, I definitely want to make sure I do the best thing.

Thanks for any help!

Tim
