Software Update Services can be installed on the
      following operating systems:
Windows 2000 Server Family with Service Pack 2
Windows .NET Server Family (RC1 and higher)

but "You cannot install the SUS service on a server that is
functioning as an Active Directory domain controller" so you
have to have a dedicated server just for SUS. You can't
install it on an SBS2000 server, for example -- MS recommends
Windows Update for small businesses up to 50 PCs. Yet often
small businesses have limited bandwidth to the Internet and
could benefit immensely from an SUS server that could download
updates overnight on the ISDN line.

Too bad you can't install SUS on a Win2k PC for such an
environment.
