It's a pretty seamless process with Win2K.
1. Create SystemState backup on local drive. 2. Go to Device Manager and switch to SMP HAL. 3. Reboot. If issues, restore from SystemState backup. 4. Power down and add the CPU. 5. If it doesn't boot, then remove CPU.
