You need adequate free space and a properly sized pagefile in order to create the dump file.
OTOH, most STOP errors can be resolved without ever touching the DMP file. Check the eventlog for the actual STOP error, as this will give you lots of info about the nature of the problem. http://www.ultratech-llc.com/KB/?File=BSOD.TXT ASB Technology Integration Specialist http://www.ultratech-llc.com/KB -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Ed Esgro Sent: Friday, January 24, 2003 2:01 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Memory.dmp Wondering if somebody could help me with a problem. I have an NT 4.0 sp6a server that at least once a week blue screens. I can not seem to figure out why. At this point I want to contact MS support and ask for their help. My problem is when the server crashes it states that it only created a partial dump file. What do I need to do to get it to create a full dump file? Can Microsoft determine the data in these files and hopefully the cause for my system crashing?
