Debra,

I can only say I've had a totally opposite experience with 9.0. Our NT
servers had a few "bumps" in the installation process, but it was a
straightforward install for the W2K servers. Our tape drive is an Exabyte
110L attached to a Dell workstation. Our Exchange backup runs at 576MB/min.
We have a Dell Poweredge 6650 which gets backed up at 660MB/min. The rest
of our servers are NT/W2K mix, which backup at 345MB/min. I especially
enjoy the new Job Setup tab.

It always comes down to personal experience in the Net Admin world.

Subject: Backup Exec 8.6 upgrade 9.0 proves deadly to backups

Has anyone had any experience with upgrading from 8.6 to 9.0? I have
recently done this and have had nothing but problems. The remote agents
were a challenge to install. Once I got them installed backups and restores
speeds can range anywhere from 100MB per minute to less than 1MB, from one
day to the next. Server backups will work for a few days and then just stop
working. BEX8.6 was working very well. But, BEX9.0 has been nothing but a
headache.. I have had our network admin look for any network issue and he
saw nothing.

Any other experiences?

Debra
