An alternative could be a "VolumeMapping" file in .NTFS-3G, similar to "UserMapping". In this file there could be 2 types of mappings for choice, valid for symlinks and junctions: - drive letter --> POSIX path - drive letter --> Volume UID Such file may be easier to create than file system links, especially in case of option windows-names. The 2nd syntax would have the benefit to remain valid when Windows drive letters become reconfigured.Additionally, user mappings, volume mappings and maybe other settings could reside in one "Mapping" file.
