This works OK for ttf fonts on my linux machine, but I don't have the ttf version of verdana, so perhaps it is something special to that font. > 2) OSFONTDIR is not recursive. To get the above I used "export > OSFONTDIR=/usr/share/fonts/vista/", just > "export OSFONTDIR=/usr/share/fonts/" doesn't work. Yes, recursion would be nice.
