You MIGHT be able to use the -K flag to activate the automatic backtrace. If you have the gcc compiler the header should be there and ./configure should setup the code for this.
But the only way to tell for sure would be to run under gdb... (Instructions are in an entry at http://snapshot.ntop.org) and when it dies, print the stack and print any relevant variables...
