At that point in the code, ntop has not yet shed privileges.  So the databases
are owned by root.

It must be that the save is failing and the return code isn't checked.

See docs/1STRUN.txt for how to do this correctly.  I'll look at trapping the
open error and stopping w/ a reasonable message.
