Do they login with DOMAIN\USER or USER@DOMAIN?

Subject: [NTSysADM] weird access denied issue

I have a client, Windows Server 2008 R2 with Windows 7 workstations. One user
seems to be getting access denied errors when opening certain LOB programs that
access a DB on the file server. She acknowledges the access denied error and
opens the program again with no issues. She got an "excel cannot access
"document name". The document may be read-only or encrypted" when she is
creator with full access to that document. No encryption is set.

She will get similar issues with different programs and I cannot find any
solutions. I was thinking a bad network connectivity issue but running pings
from the server to the workstation is results in 0% of lost packets. Other
users have complained about this issue but only 1 or 2 times in the past 6
months where this user gets these errors almost 2-3 times per week.

I'm desperate for suggestions. I can wipe the PC but I'm not sure that will
resolve the issue. I can create a new user in AD but doubt that will resolve
anything either.

TIA,

Jimmy
