Well, if you are using winpoet from Verizon check to see that you have the latest version.  Also, in the MD area Verizon will put the connection to sleep therefore winpoet drops the connection and you have to login.  If you can have a bat file ping something every 15 min. you don't lose connection since the isp sees activity.  DSL is suppose to be always on, but that is not the case in some areas even if it is advertised.   -----Original Message----- From: Benjamin Winzenz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2001 11:00 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: Strange Win2k Site access - WIERD! It is strange as the server is not crashing it is just saying that the connection with webmaster was lost. I don't know how it can lose connection with itself. I am trying to figure this thing out. I think it has a lot to do with my isp. I use Winpoet to connect. It shuts off now and then without notice. The net card that goes to the DSL modem gets its static ip and dns info from the isp. So if the winpoet connection goes then maybe that is the culprit.
