There was a time that the US Marshals would ride on flights. I am not sure
of the exact details but it was better than nothing.
One of the news channels did a report last night where they got a person
hired at the airport and within 2 days they were accessing secure areas of
the airplane such as the cockpit..no extensive background check was
performed on that new employee.
I am sure it will hit the news soon.
So there is plenty to work on......
