Just switched from Vonage to Ooma as well. Got a refurb Ooma for ~$140, and spent the $30ish to get my number ported.
So far so good. Issues: 1) The base service doesn't do email notifications of vmail. I did get that w/ Vonage, but I also was paying. $28/mo. I can do without it. 2) No 3-way calling unless you are physically at the Ooma interface box (not practical for me, it's in my basement wiring closet), or have an Ooma handset. I got around this by using my Google Voice # and forwarding it to my Ooma #...
