At an old job...

We used to disable accounts at 2:30 (meetings with HR at 2:30 were bad
as that's when they did all terminations).  Then one day at 2:50, the
guy stuck his head in our room
guy... "hey, my account won't work"
us, "uhhhhh..... don't you have a meeting with 'HR'
guy, ya, how'd you know?
us.  she was looking for you.  Why don't you go see her and we'll look
into your account issue.

After that, we told HR to send us an email or call when they were in
the meeting.  It was bad enough knowing all day he was getting let go
and not saying anything.
