There are definitely too many Vista versions, and I agree that the "Vista capable" certification was confusing. But anyone could find out exactly what "Vista capable" meant, and the name wasn't a misnomer--those machines WERE capable of running Vista. So while Microsoft made some boneheaded moves here, I don't think consumers should be able to successfully sue them for it.

MS had established a trend of missed deadlines and release dates that vendors had gotten used to. Where they are really culpable is in the "vista capable" debacle and also selling so many confusing versions of the same OS. You know you have problems when Walmart has no problem selling an entry level PC with linux, but says that the Home Basic version of your rand new shiny OS is not good enough for their customers. Dropping hardware requirements to help your vendor (IBM) sell chipsets that seriously downgrade your OS performance is not the best way to take care of your customers. ~ Upgrade to Next Generation Antispam/Antivirus with Ninja! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbelt-software.com/SunbeltMessagingNinja.cfm> ~ ~ Upgrade to Next Generation Antispam/Antivirus with Ninja! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbelt-software.com/SunbeltMessagingNinja.cfm> ~
